01. 8:52 am, my bedroom
A little bedside reading thanks to all the lovely Christmas gifts from Roana, Jill and Risa and my sentence a day journal. This year, I'm going to try my best to really live for the daily.
02. 9:31 am, Commonwealth Avenue
And we're off to Mama's house to pass by for Tita Lilet before we head on our day-long sojourn to Quiapo to search for the perfect pair of glasses. It's been two years since I bought a pair. It's long overdue.
03. 9:44 am, Mama's house
My grandma's spare room looks like it's straight out of a horror movie, thank goodness, this isn't where I'd stay if I sleep over.
04. 11:27 am, P. Paterno st., Quiapo
Store number 1 for the day and there are already possible choices for us. I'm hopeful for the day with this hunt for the perfect pair.
05. 1:08 pm, Chowking, Raon Street
The other Chowking on the same street was so very full. Thank goodness there's a second branch that wasn't quite as full. We were very hungry, obviously.
06. 1:19 pm, Chowking, Raon street
well-deserved lunch at Chowking. It was such an awesome meal after the long walk and search. The siomai and chicken and fried rice and kangkong were the perfect waiting meal.
07. 2:58 pm, P. Paterno street.
And we're done! Paola and I ended up getting matching eyeglasses, and an extra pair which we already both owned (they're different) with new lenses in it. Now, I just have to cut my hair.
08. 3:48 pm, Road 5
Hello, Pulpy Orange. We were so thirsty walking back after the jeepney ride -- and since I'm trying to stay away from soda, orange juice it is. I miss drinking from a straw out of a plastic bag.
09. 4:50 pm, dining room
As if I hadn't eaten too much already, I treat myself to a snack of instant dinuguan and rice. It doesn't register too well on camera, but it's amazing.
10. 5:08 pm, my room
My The West Wing marathon is going very well and I'm really enjoying this lazy watching. I can't believe this is the last season of Sorkin.
11. 6:28 pm, my bathroom
And so we see the first of my new glasses. It'll take some time to get used to it again, but it's nice to see the world in such a clear view again.
12. 7:08 pm, dining room
Take note, this isn't even my last meal of the day. Obviously, I should take a photo of a bike or something to signal I did some exercise today, but I haven't. We'll see. The night is young.
