On Repeat: Florence Wants You To Shake It Out

Come Quick![Florence + The Machine.net]
I'm late late late to everything so this is really a mash-up of old-ish and newer stuff and though I haven't been paying attention to much music lately -- things have been pretty crazy in real life, there are still the stand out songs I've had on repeat.

You'll make fun of me for not discovering some of the older songs here sooner, but I barely listen to the radio now and I rely on recs (hint, hint: come rec me good songs/albums/artists, yo!) and from when I can actually browse through Stereogum.

So yeah, there is a reason I'm an amateur at music, but let me know what's your on your repeat lists, will you?

Florence + The Machine - Shake it Out

Raise your hand if you're excited for the new Florence + The Machine album? Yes, I see a lot of hands raised. I'm actually really psyched to hear the rest of the follow-up album to the fantastic Lungs and this single is stuck in my head. I love it.

Adele - Someone Like You

I know I'm the last person to appreciate this song but it took a Matthew/Mary fanvid for me to fall in love and feel like my guts were being wrenched out and trampled on. Kill me, this song is too beautiful and with all that Matthew/Mary, how can you not feel this?!

Christina Perri - A Thousand Years

Okay, so the video is kind of cheesy, but I'm actually more excited about the soundtrack right now just because. It's actually so close to the movie and the songs are trickling out and they've been pretty good so far. Don't mind the video, it's too much.

Bombay Bicycle Club - Lights Out, Words Gone

IWhen I first heard this band's name, I got curious immediately. How cute can their name be after all? But then their music turned out to be pretty swell and chill and fun and just my kind of jam. I saw this new one of theirs and obviously, I like it already.

Duffy - I'm Scared

An oldie but a goodie, I love Duffy and her second album's pretty good too but I always find myself going back to this song in the first album and just really enjoying the hell out of it. Prayer circle, everyone.
