On Repeat: The Lonely Island Boys Are Back

They're Back![Stereogum]
I'm a sucker for The Lonely Island's brand of humor and all the cameos they always get on their songs and their videos so now that Turtlenecks and Chains is out, I'm incredibly excited to listen to the rest of their album, because based on what I've heard so far, it's pretty hilarious and pretty awesome.

And I know it's not yet summer in the US, but here, summer's already ending and I haven't heard an anthem just yet (sure Rihanna's S&M is still playing in my head, but I'm just late to the party, as always) but I sure can't wait for some new summer songs before it gets to the rainy season.

The Lonely Island - Jack Sparrow

Do I sense a Pirates of the Caribbean sponsored song? Why yes, and yet it's totally on strat with how The Lonely Island operates. Plus getting Michael Bolton to do all those crazy scenes from movies. I can't wait to see more videos from the songs on this album.

Rihanna - S&M

i was at an event last week and this was on repeat like ten million times. And I didn't mind either, I just kept wanting to dance to it every time it came on. Rihanna, stay awesome. I swear, this song makes me want to get up and dance -- even when I'm in the office.

Jessie J - Party in the USA

Quite possibly the most repeated song this year, I loved Jessie J's take on Miley's Party in the USA. From her accent to her voice to the way i was bobbing my head to this again and again and again, I wish I could literally party in the USA with them.

I Feel Pretty/Unpretty

Despite my love/indifference relationship with the show, there are times when I still really enjoy the music from the show. Quinn & Rachel's mash-up of I Feel Pretty/Unpretty was a really good one and it found itself on repeat for quite a few days. Despite the preachiness and the lack of zing the show has had lately, I really liked this one.

Birdy - Skinny Love

Thanks to the awesome starryeyedmagic for rec'ing this on her Music Monday post. Then a week or so after, it gets played on Vampire Diaries. Look at Laura, being cooler before the cool shows play them. I knew you had it in you, Laura. But really, when they played this song at that time on the show. I just died. I can't wait to watch the season finale.
