|Oh Dear 7||[Rickey]|
Thank goodness for Quentin Tarantino. I mean this guy is just entertaining to watch, because the rest of the show was just literally blah for me. From the opening till the close I was just floating along.
And what was up with the Team Judging? I mean yes, I barely listen to what the judges say anymore but maybe if you didn't have SO MANY judges you wouldn't need to cut the time down from the judging. Why not cut time out from the ads (oh wait, can't do that) or from the babble with contestants. I was just not liking this new judging format. I mean I only listen to Simon sometimes and I only heard him half tonight. Not good at all.
I love Allison Iraheta. I think I've said that enough times. But tonight, I was disappointed with her choice of I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing. Sure it gives for a big voice kind of performance but I didn't get goosebumps when she sang and I thought it was too predictable/safe for her. Was she good? Yeah of course. Just safe.
I actually really liked Anoop Desai's take on Everything I Do (I Do it For You). His voice was right on the spot and he was really working the stage and just giving it his all. This was probably my favorite Anoop-slow-song performance of ever because it felt more passionate and more felt then the others. It wasn't just something he had to do.
And though Adam Lambert has been growing on me these past few weeks, I've got to say that Born To Be Wild wasn't my favorite performance from him. I love how he can go all ERRATIC crazy manic performance one week and then really somber, mellow, emotional the next and makes it work. That's the thing I'll give Lambert tonight, he knows how to work it and I couldn't take my eyes off him, despite not having a crush on him. That's performance.
I don't know if it's already my extreme bias for Matt Giraud but I really really really really really really (have I said really enough?) liked his Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman. I liked how he used the piano. I liked how he sang and enunciated the lyrics (I actually understood them all) and I just really liked him. I don't know why the judges hate all the time, but I guess they want him gone. Well I don't, because this song is going on repeat in my iTunes for a long time.
And we see a makeover for Danny Gokey!!! Gotta say the hair looks good, though I'm still not used to seeing him sans the glasses. And though he chose a really crummy song for me, I'm not a big fan of Endless Love, I thought he did it good. He started out really really rough though, but he made it work in the end. And this was the only time I felt bad for him and his wife. The message of the song and what he's 'going through' actually got to me this week.
I really feel bad for Kris Allen. He chose a really good song, Falling Slowly from the movie Once. The problem? It's not really a showcase-your-vocal-chops song and instead is a cry-with-me-over-the-meaning kind of thing. Did I think he did it justice? Well, he could have done better, but just the fact that he chose this song over say My Heart Will Go On or whatever was great. Not his best though.
And the unfortunate waste of the pimp spot goes to Lil Rounds this week. I know I shouldn't be hating so much because The Rose wasn't actually THAT bad, but I just really feel nothing from her. Even this week, as I tried to sympathize and feel any sort of emotion for this woman, I just couldn't.
And so I'm sure that tonight, Danny and Adam are safe safe safe. These guys don't have to worry cause they weren't bad and they have the machinery/fans to make it through. Dial Idol however, is making me worried for Kris and Matt.
Kris is supposedly the guy with the least votes, but Matt is there too and these guys do not deserve to go. And if they do, they better get freaking saved. Seriously. Those judges better use that Judges save if anyone who isn't LIL ROUNDS gets the lowest amount of votes, because really, they all (minus Lil) really deserve to stay.
Who had the best performance of the night?
Who had the worst performance of the night?
Who should be in the Bottom 3?
Who should be eliminated?
Over-all, tonight's performances were
So not cut out for the movies
