American Idol 8: Top 9 Elimination (They Just Don't Love You Just the Way You Are)

Sometimes I wonder why I'm still watching this show. Last night, I wasn't exactly impressed, but I guess for a lack of things to do (plus the anal side of me), I just have to keep recapping. Not that Idol has totally lost all the fun in it for me, I guess it just lacks the talent of past seasons. I know that it's probably just an off week or maybe my expectations are too high, but I can't help but want more from this season.

And though my losing streak is going to last until two weeks from now, I have accepted my fate that this year, I won't get anything right. And I guess that's fine by me. In fact, I don't think I've watched an elimination show this year (not that I have in the previous years), but it's just lost the draw for me.

Anyway, I'm not surprised that Megan got the boot. Dial Idol has done it again, but I was really hoping for a Lil Rounds upset. I don't care if I get it wrong again, but I want Lil to go already. At least with Megan, I appreciated her in the auditions and sort of liked her during Hollywood.

Then she performed Rocking Robin and though at first listen it wasn't my favorite, it's totally grown on me and is probably my favorite Megan Corkrey performance (which isn't really saying much either). So at least so far, the eliminations have been of those who really deserve to go. I hope they don't do a shocker next week and remove a favorite for the sake of ratings, because Lil has to go first before that happens.
