Cause I Didn't Go Permanent For Nothing

Despite the shallowness, one of the things that convinced me to go permanent (other than the paid account thing for life) was the fact that I get to have a gazillion (rather 195) userpics. And really, what makes LiveJournal so much fun are these little 100x100 pictures!

So go do these two memes for me and spread the icon love. Whether you're permanent or paid or plus or even basic (come on, that's six icons still), go do both memes and spread the icon cheer this holiday season! First I'll pick icons for you, then YOU pick out icons from me! It doesn't have to be as long as mine, I just ramble a lot -- obviously.
Chosen by castiels
1. Reply to this post and I will pick five of your icons
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose if you feel like it.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

  1. Jake Gyllenhaal: Stop Teasing Us speakfree
Before Rob and any other Manjoyment, there was Jake Gyllenhaal. I had loved him since high school (which feels like a lifetime away) and this is one of the LAST surviving Jake icons on my list. I still have a treasure chest of icons centering on him, but I guess he'll have to wow me again soon. Right now, Jake with Reese is making me a little cold on him (belated happy birthday), but I'm sure in time (like say, the "Prince of Persia" movie) he'll climb back up the charts.

This .gif icon was taken from the Behind the Scenes video of his photo shoot for Vanity Fair with Annie Leibovitz. I swear that magazine produces the best photo shoots ever (hello Twilight Cast) and that shot of him bringing his hand through his hair makes me realize I love it when guys do that to their hair (Hello Rob!)

  2. Gossip Girl: Everybody Loves Cute Boys mediocrechick
Really who doesn't love Cute Boys? I used this for my Manjoyment for April when I featured the Gossip Guys and this was just perfect because it summed up what I was trying to say. Cute Boys are Love.

Plus, anything by mediocrechick is just amazing. She made a lot of my Jake icons and she did Gossip Girl for a bit too. This was just one of the many many icons I have amassed from her talent. Gotta give props to the icon makers, really.

  3. 90210: Ryan Matthews -- Hottest Teacher Ever vicelike
I didn't think I would get into 90210, but I did and though it was a slow start, I eventually just accepted it for what it was: a really fun show that wasn't trying to be like the old Beverly Hills, 90210 -- nor was it trying to be the West Coast version of Gossip Girl. And when I had accepted that, I totally enjoyed it for it's perennial sunny-ness and just all around happy cheery feel.

What I didn't expect was to find the 'older' teacher, Ryan Matthews SUPER duper hot! So he has a tendency to get a little self-righteous, but if he were my English professor, I'd be sitting up and listening in class every single day and hello private tutorial lessons.

  4. Gossip Girl: Little J -- Jenny from the Block firstillusion
God I love Gossip Girl. And though I'm not Jenny Humphrey's biggest fan (especially when she gets all I-Wanna-Overthrow-Blair mode) but when she's nice, I really do like her. She can be a really sweet sister/daughter/friend, when she's not trying to rule the world -- honey you're not the Queen B.

That's why I totally loved this icon, cause it says "Jenny From the Block" cause it's just like J.Lo says -- no matter what she is now, she'll always be Jenny from the block (hers just so happened to be Bronx) and Little J will always be from Brooklyn Dumbo!

  5. Rob Pattinson: Where are My Cookies? matchbox_icons
Obviously, Rob is my flavor of the month number one boy and so he deserves his own set of icons. I love this one, because the vibrancy of the red behind him (he was at the press conference for Twilight in LA) against his hair (which we can now say goodbye to: he chopped it off and I LOVE IT -- but I digress) and his blue shirt and he just pops out at you.

Plus his super serious expression just gets me. Despite his high/drunk/sleepy demeanor, he always gives the most funny interviews that really give you insight into him (whether he's trying to be funny or serious or whatever) and the look he's giving here is very intense as if asking in a Cookie Monster territoriality, "Where are his cookies?!" I just love it.
Let's break the icon meme love for a quick look at Rob and his new haircut. I swear. He could shave it off and somehow I don't mind. He looks really really good too. He looks neat and clean (as clean as he could get) and just so much 'younger'. Love it.
Now that I've talked about the icons castiels chose for me, just reply and I'll pick icons that you can talk about and then go ahead and pick from my icons and I'll do the same for you. See how this end up going on and on forever?

Go to my userpics and pick:
1. Your favorite.
2. Your least favorite.
3. One that makes you automatically think of me.
4. One that you think I should TOTALLY use more often.
5. One that you don't get/needs more explanation/you have no idea why I have it.
