But with this current batch, considered to be the "BEST TOP ___ EVER!" I don't find myself excited to watch them perform because honestly, they're not really bringing much performance. I'm not compelled to watch them.
- Ramiele Malubay - "Alone" (Heart) 8
I know Ramiele can sing. But she can't sing 'em all. That song was just waaaay too big for her. I didn't even like Carrie Underwood but I liked her version of this song. It was screechy and pitchy in the big parts. I think the only reason Simon said she was safe was to make the fans complacent and complacent they were according to DialIdol. Oh noes.
- Jason Castro - "Fragile" (Sting) 3
Happy Birthday Jason!!! I hope they don't kick him out tonight as a gift to him!!! There is something really sexy about this guy. Just listening to his mp3 does not do him justice. YOU HAVE TO WATCH HIS SEXINESS. I'm glad he took his guitar back too. I love it when he strums that guitar. And so humble too! He didn't even talk back to Simon! Don't kick him out. CASTRONAUTS UNITE!!!
- Syesha Mercado - "If I Were Your Woman" (Stephanie Mills) 2
I love this song. Alicia Keys has a version and love it. Vocally, again, Syesha is the best. She's just got the power to back up those big notes and yet she's gentle with those softer notes. I was shivering in my seat just listening to her. Oooh, Paula says she's the "dark horse" now all she has to do is be endearing. I still have no love for her. But yeah she's good.
- Chikezie Eze - "If Only For One Night" (Luther Vandross) 9
Chikezie was good, but it did feel very very old (but then again, how old is the song). But I guess he could have mixed it up. The thing with Chikezie is I really just don't feel any love or sympathy for him. In fact, I wish he'd just get the boot. The vocals were very good, but the performance was not fab at all.
- Brooke White - "Every Breath You Take" (The Police) 7
Brooke's parents are very very young. They look like they're all just siblings. I feel like every time I see her she's going to cry. I just want to give her a hug. OMG. Did she just repeat the first line?!? OH noes. Big booboo. I guess that's the perk of playing your own instrument, you can keep repeating til you get it right, but i'm still disturbed. Other than that, her performance was alright. Not so compelling, her vocals weren't fantastic. And I felt it was just a straight line, with no peaks. Oh well.
- Michael Johns - "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" (Queen) 5
Michael's dad is too adorable. I wanna hug Papa Johns. Can anyone spell PIMP SPOT?!? The lights!? The back to back Queen combo! The arrangement. And yet, I find myself still longing for his soulful "Across the Universe." This was a desperate plea to fans to just get those people voting. Still, go Michael. Good effort! You looked like you really worked hard for that. I appreciate it that you're not just coasting along. Fine, I like you.
- Carly Smithson - "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (Bonnie Tyler) 6
No wonder Carly is scary. Her mother looks tough!!! I do not want to get into a fight with this woman. She scares me. When she opened her mouth, I was just blown away. Big song = Big voice. She pulled it off. I wasn't a fan of the run at the end either, but the rest was alright. Simon, how he hell can you lighten up on a song like that anyway? Carly was good.
- David Archuleta - "You're The Voice" (John Farnham) 3
Dadchuleta was a little speechless e? Momchuleta looked like she was at a loss for words. David dancing as a little kid looks so adorable!!! Where the hell did he pick this song from? But really, he's sooooooo cute. I wana give him a BIG HUG!!! He looks like Josh Groban's long lost little brother. Maybe the song was a little too preachy-ish, but it wasn't bad at all.
- Kristy Lee Cook - "God Bless the USA" (Lee Greenwood) 10
Why is Kristy so pretty?!? This girl is just made sugar and spice and everything nice. But woman, aren't you luck you were born on a year that God Bless the USA was made? This is practically like Amazing Grace. Plus you get he patriot vote. Smart smart girl too. Again, despite your extreme prettiness, I'm just NOT a fan. I'm sorry. I doubt you're getting kicked out though.
- David Cook - "Billie Jean" (Michael Jackson) 1
David Cook. Please let me breathe. Let me live till the end of your performance because that was just made of all sorts of sexy. SEXEH!!! TEH SEX!!! OMGZ!@#$%^&*()_P)(*&^%$#@!#$%^&*()_ Trust Paula though to tell him the "best" comment ever during the sexiest performance eva by calling him "SMART" but wow, pare, that was hot. Seriously.
My Bottom Three
I feel bad for Syesha because the only reason she got dethroned from the number one spot is because she doesn't make me want to jump her bones. The boys get it easy from me, because all you gotta have is a decent voice and be sexy and you've got my vote. But David Cook won me over with not just sexiness but a crazy voice to match. Ack! I wanna name our (David and me) kid Billie Jean, for sure.
Who had the best performance?
Who had the worst performance?
Who should be in the Bottom 3?
Who should be eliminated?
Over-all, tonight's performances were
And for the first time EVER, DialIdol does not predict that David A will be number 1. In fact, he only comes second to David Cook and is now followed by Carly and then Michael. And the rest are in the bottom 3. But the point here is, David A is no longer than wunderkind they played him out to be. Or is this a mere plot to throw backlashers off? Either way, this is progress in how TPTB and their plans to rig the show are developing as the show moves on.
Vote for the Worst said it best though. They're recap is so hilarious, I was laughing with every line. You know a show is getting bad when you enjoy reading recaps more than watching the actual show. And yet I'm a sucker who returns to Idol every damn week. I hate my addictive personality.
