Bring it on girls, because this is "the best top 24 ever" remember, if Ryan hasn't reminded us for the 279324343439th time. I wonder how many more times he'll be saying this.
- Kristy Lee Cook - "Rescue Me" (Fontella Bass) 10
If I have to hear her sing "Amazing Grace" ONE MORE TIME, I swear I might just hurl. Boohoo with the horse story. I heard this already. Is she going to repeat anything else? I have to say that she looks like Diane Kruger. Hot stuff, let's hope her vocals are just as hot. Weak start. Who the hell will rescue you when you're sounding like that?
Pamy says she looks like a Barbie. I agree. But Barbie wasn't really known for her singing. Maybe it's the David H curse? Being first? I just feel like she could have done way better. Who cares if you're sick? aren't you here to win? Get well girl.
Oh and Luke, LEAVE YOUR WIFE and get together with Kristy!!!! You guys will make beautiful babies when you both get kicked out tomorrow.
- Joanne Borgella - "Say A Little Prayer" (Dionne Warwick) 11
Honey, I was expecting sooooooooooo much more. Why am I suddenly appreciating Kristy Lee Cook? I'm even wishing for some Luke Menard face time. I don't know how to explain her voice. I know how Simon uses karaoke a lot, well today I'm gonna use it. What is she doing in the top 24? Cardin Mckinney is somewhere at home slitting her wrists. WHAT THE FUCK was that ending? Wow I'm just speechless.
- Alaina Whitaker - "More Today Than Yesterday" (Spiral Staircase) 4
Yet another "made it their own version" of THAT SONG again? I mean I like this song, but not twice in a week! Oh wait, it was just the introduction. I'm glad she stuck to the original arrangement. I have to give it to her though, for being better than both Kristy and Joanne combined. She's got the pipes and she can perform pretty good. But according to DialIdol, it looks like she's not going to get her birthday wish tomorrow. Still, I'm hoping she sticks around.
- Amanda Overymyer - "Baby Please Don't Go" (Them) 9
Wow. My favorite rawker of the bunch, though that isn't saying much. I guess because I'm not really rock's biggest fan, I couldn't really appreciate it, but I'm not really repulsed by her. I guess she could have performed better considering her song had about 1 lyric to it, but hey at least I was watching her the entire time waiting for another lyric.
- Amy Davis - "Where the Boys Are" (Connie Francis) 12
Is her voice shaking on that first line? Was that pitchy? Why do I keep asking myself questions? And why am I not getting any positive answers from her? Yes she can belt, but is it the right note she's belting? It's so boring. Even Luke Menard is getting bored at the side of the stage. No wonder VoteForTheWorst picks her. I kind of agree.
When Randy DOES NOT say DAWG, you are dead. When Paula starts with "The camera loves you," you're dead. When Simon doesn't have anything to add, you really are screwed.
- Brooke White - "Happy Together" (The Turtles) 5
This girl is just made of all kinds of cute. But dude, you and Robbie Carrico should... Wait, I don't even want to finish that sentence. I have to say she's got a great vocal. The tone of her voice is fabulous. She wavered a bit in the middle part, but I liked it generally. Not fond of the "pa pa pa pa" parts, but she ended pretty okay.
- Alexandrea Lushington - "Spinning Wheel" (Blood, Sweat and Tears) 3
Go drag in grandma for the grandparents vote. I respect that, trying to reach all demographics. Even reaching out to the Bo Bice fans out there by doing the famed song of that other Idol from seasons past. She's got the performing skillz. She really worked the stage. Not perfect vocals, but forgivable cause she brought it with her showmanship. She was really confident and at home on stage.
- Kady Malloy - "Groovy Kind of Love" (The Mindbenders) 8
Are these people getting younger and younger? Or am I getting older and older? Maybe both. Her Britney impression is fabulous! She should be Britney now. Revive the dying career. To think I hate this song, the tone of her voice made me sit up and listen. I'm digging the cheesy snapping in the background too. This has the tendency to get boring, but it didn't for me.
- Asia'h Epperson - "Piece Of My Heart" (Janis Joplin) 1
So far, best sob story I've heard. Dad dying is terrible! She's really pulling from some inner pain here. AND she chose my super favorite song ever!!! She's got pep, she's got the vocals, she's got stage presence. She's got an extra H at the end of her name! This girl has it.
- Ramiele Malubay - "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" (Dusty Springfield) 2
So if David A has the 17 year old card, Ramiele's got the "little-girl-big-voice" card. And I might actually use it. I really hope Ramiele is'nt some Jasmine, who peaks too early. I'm glad she didn't sing this song a la Nadia Turner (belting every line out), this nice smooth delivery is just fabulous. Though her last note was a little too short, i'm so going
I love you Randy Jackson. Paula Abdul, all your sins are forgiven. I'm loving how they're loving Ramiele. AND yes! I agree, hair and makeup is the best! You look fabulous honey.
- Syesha Mercado - "Tobacco Road" (The Nashville Teens) 6
Not even Nosferatu could pull off this song, Syesha, I know you're trying to not fall into the "soul singer" box, but I don't think the rawker box is for you either. You've got great vocals, but I'm just not feeling you. This is like Nadia (hair) meets La Toya ("talent"). She's this year 'birit' (belting) queen. Rawr.
- Carly Smithson - "Shadow Of Your Smile" (Tony Bennett) 7
Stop pimping Carly! But hey, yet another plant. Isn't it funny how both plants get the pimp spot this year? Suspicious much? Risky song choice. Good start. Rockifying the Bennett e? Let's see if you can sustain this. I'm not repulsed. My little goth princess has something going on. She missed her glory note, and as Pamy said, a little reminiscent of McScreechy. I agree on something else though, she needs a stylist. Stat.
My Bottom Three
10. Kristy Lee Cook
11. Joanne Borgella
12. Amy Davis
FOr some reason, this episode flew by quicker than last night's episode. Was it because they were better? Maybe because I enjoyed their performances more. Entertainment Weekly delivered another hilarious recap and I agree that Amy and Joanne have to go.
Who had the best performance?
Who had the worst performance?
Who should be in the Bottom 3?
Which two should be eliminated?
Over-all, tonight's performances were
Who will go tomorrow night? I hope the deserving ones, because there were the obvious standouts when it comes to kick out worthy performances. I wonder how America will vote this time. Will VFTW have any pull this year? Or will America actually vote right. Let's see tomorrow night.
