You have to follow through

Yesterday, Kim and I watched Deja Vu in Eastwood. I wanted to watch this movie with my dad when we saw the trailer a few months back but I never thought I'd actually get around to watching it. Other than the sort of unbelievable premise, the movie was actually pretty good. Denzel Washington was hot as always. I love cop/detective movies and with a little bit of romance and suspense, this movie was very good. Speaking of movies, I'm super excited for Music and Lyrics! This is two fandoms colliding for me. Drew Barrymore + Hugh Grant! And it was directed by the guy who made Two Weeks Notice!
A washed up singer (Grant) is given a couple days to compose a chart-topping hit for an admiring teen sensation. Though he's never written lyrics in his life, he sparks with an offbeat younger woman (Barrymore) with a flair for words.
I'm so excited. I can't wait for this and The Holiday. If they ever come out in our cinemas, considering we're experiencing a backlog of movies thanks to the MMFF.

Anyway, I was able to watch the Golden Globes and I was pretty happy with most of the results. I was there mostly for the stars and what they'd wear and who they were with. mediocrechick sums up the red carpet fashion pretty well. Here is her Fugly Awards. I agree with most of what she said, but for some reason, I actually really liked Cameron Diaz's gown. I'm probably the only person on earth who honestly liked it (ruffles and all). And I'm not even a Cameron fan.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from the Golden Globes:

"I know everyone says they have a wonderful crew and certainly that can't be the case. We can't all be wonderful. Somebody somewhere is working with a crew of drunken thieves. But it's not me. They smell of newly mown grass." — Drama actor winner, Hugh Laurie for TV's "House."

"I swear I have my papers in order. Governor, I swear." — Mexican director I swear I have my papers in order. Governor, I swear." — Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, accepting the best-drama award for "Babel" from California Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"Thank you to every American who has not sued me so far." — Sacha Baron Cohen, winner of best actor award for comedy, "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"

I watched this odd movie last night too. I wasn't even sure of what it was called but it had all these big movie stars in it. From Ralph Fiennes, to Rita Wilson to Glenn Close to Allison Janney to Jason Isaacs! I'm telling you, it was filled with known stars and yet I didn't know the movie. Apparently, it's called The Chumscrubber and though the plot was kind of weird, I actually sat through the entire thing (instead of doing school work, of course).

And finally, I just want to thank aprilbegins! I got your holiday card and it's so pretty!!! You are such a creative genius. I wonder if I can actually hang the air freshener in my car. Lovely! I seriously hope you receive mine before next holiday.
