Selfless Battle Warrior

Hector of Troy

Eric Bana
so sexy/sweet you'll want to:
bribe Achilles so that he won't kill Hector and instead deliver him to you
How can I not even fall for this guy? He's the ultimate Homeric Hero after all. But other than that, Hector is truly one of the sweetest and sexiest men from ancient history. Why? He has got the total package. Yes, he's covered all bases. Sure, he died, but I'm sure Andromache enjoyed him while he was still alive.

Just like Linus, Hector has that authoritative manner of carrying himself. And since my mom said I have such a domineering personality, I've always been drawn to guys with a more imposing personality. Hector is the head of their army. What more I could I ask for?

I especially love the part wherein Hector was gearing up for battle. His muscles were so defined! I'm not the biggest fan of humongous pecs, but Hector's were just exceptional! He looked pretty fly! But his physique wasn't what made me consider him sexy. His extreme selflessness and love for his people were just too much for me. He oozed with such confidence I couldn't help but feel floored by it all.

He was such a sweetie too. Especially to Paris. Even if he was mad at his little brother half the time, it was obvious that he was just looking out for him. I totally adore this conversation they had. I love older brothers. They're so caring for their younger siblings. Here it is

Hector: Do you know what you have done? Do you know how many years our father worked for peace?
Paris: I love her.
Hector: Ugh. It's all a game to you isn't it? You roam from town to town, bedding merchants' wives and temple maids and you think you know something about love? What about your father's love? You spat on him when you brought her onto this ship! What about the love for your country? You'd let Troy burn for this woman? I won't let you start a war for her.
Paris: May I speak? If what you say is true. I've wronged you. I've wronged our father. If you want to take Helen back to Sparta, so be it! But I go with her.
Hector: To Sparta, they'll kill you.
Paris: Then I'll die fighting.
Hector: Oh, and that's sounds heroic to you doesn't it? To die fighting. Tell me little brother, have you ever killed a man?
Paris: No.
Hector: Ever seen a man die in combat?
Paris: No.
Hector: I've killed men and I've heard them dying and I've watched them dying and there's nothing glorious about it, nothing poetic. You say you're willing to die for love but you know nothing about dying and you know nothing about love!
Paris: All the same, I go with her. I won't ask you to fight my war.
Hector: You already have.

The authority! The confidence! The script! Hector is absolutely a sweet/sexy dude. It's such a shame he had to die though. I totally cannot forgive Achilles for that. Hector was the hottie with heart. It really hurt that he had to leave his wife and son. I was in tears when Achilles gave him his final cut. I have to say that it was a kick ass move, worthy of Hector.

Lastly, I just have to say that Hector was very inspiring. He had such great lines -- as compared to Chad's lines -- that were totally making me gush. He had such a presence that the screen felt bare without him. To finish this off, here's a line that more people should live by.

Hector: All of my life I have lived by a code and the code is simple: honor the gods, love your woman and defend your country. Troy is mother to us all. Fight for her!

I can live by the code, if you want me to, Hector? As long as I am your woman.

Just One Smile From You

I watched One Tree Hill a few hours back and I can't help but feel jealous of Sophia Bush (Brooke). She has Chad on the show, and in real life. How can some girls be so lucky! All I really want is a smile. Right, Monesca?

Just one smile. And what does she get? Not only a smile, but his arm around her, his eyes soulfully gazing into her eyes. Some body heat and maybe even his hand on her ass. Some girls get all the fun.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that I feel everyone should understand the gravity of this. The world is unfair and I have to live with it. It just makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this.

Think of it, as a belated happy birthday to him too. He's twenty-three. That means we're only six years apart, Monesca. Not seven, but six. Hmmm... do I have more hope here?
