Stuffing Myself and Surprise Parties

Surprise birthday parties have always been a fantasy of mine. It's just so fun to have all your friends and family right there to surprise you complete with the balloons and cake and flowers and all that crap. My friends and I do simulated surprises for each other. We do the entire cake and flowers thing even if the actual event isn't much of a surprise. It's fun to do and even better whent you're the one being surprised.

My dad's pseudo-surprise birthday party last night, which also happened to be a month late was a food fest. My mom put out all the stops when it came to feeding her guests because I just couldn't see how much food we could consume. There was food everywhere and she just kept bringing out some more. To think she was so worried over the entire party thing. Dad's friends kept eating so I guess mom was a bit nervous with how her creations would be critiqued. I have to say that I give her two thumbs up because the food was delicious! I could still feel the remnants of the shrimp, and the kebabs and everything else I managed to stuff my face with when I woke up this morning.

Niko had his own surprise today at Cantinetta and I have to say the food was just amazing! I feel so stuffed from all of the Italian food we had. I didn't even think I could still haul myself out of there after two consecutive meals of just stuffing my face. All I did for dinner last night and lunch today was eat, eat and eat some more. So much for dieting. No one was thinking of their figures as they served us with more food. I don't think I've ever eaten that much Italian food in my entire life.

The cake was so cute. Even if I'm not such a big fan of cats, the cat shaped cake complete with a little mouse was surprisingly cute. The cat looked a bit on the odd side, but over-all, the presentation was really different.

Tomorrow, I will be taking my Physics test and I am still nowhere near understanding projectile. I have an article to write for Blazon and I can't seem to open the file on the format. Beautiful. This week is surely going to be a long week for all the seniors. I can't wait till I graduate in March. The countdown has begun.

Determined Boy Next Door

Cameron James

Joseph Gordon Levitt
so sexy/sweet you'll want to:
flunk French so that you can have him as your tutor and date to the prom too
One of my favorite movies of all time, Ten Things I Hate About You introduced me to the world of coming of age films. The typical high school movie was just what I was looking for and this film put out all the stops. It had the unreachable babe in the form of Bianca Stratford, the intellectual feminist through Kat Stratford, the new kid on the block with Patrick Verona, the bad ass jock with embodied by Joey Donner and the underdog who ends up with the chick, Cameron James.

Like everyone else, he was allured by Bianca's charm and beauty, but he wasn't like the rest, because he wasn't going to settle for mere admiration. He was going to get her even if it killed him. It surely helped that he had a really sweet smile to go along with his adorable face, but Cameron was a determined kid and he worked to get what he wanted.

He was so desperate to get Bianca's attention, he even volunteered to teach her some French just so he could have some face time with her. Still, Bianca was the typical stupid girl and she couldn't even see beyond the boyish exterior Cameron presented her with. Honestly, I thought his boyish great looks were sexier than Joey Donner's chiseled look. But the lead girl really has to be a bit dumb.

I absolutely love the part when they're in the car after he takes her home and he's just frustrated with her. He's been so sweet to her and all she does is blow him off:

Cameron: You never wanted to go sailing with me, did you?
Bianca: Yes I did.
Cameron: No. You didn't.
Bianca: Well, okay. No. Not actually.
Cameron: Well, then that's all you had to say. You always been this selfish?
Bianca: Yes.
Cameron: You know, just because you're beautiful, doesn't mean you can treat people like they don't matter. I mean, I really like you. Okay? I defended you when people called you conceited. I helped you when you asked me to. I learned French for you! And then you just blow me off...
Bianca:[looks at him for a moment, then grabs his face and gives him a kiss on the lips.]
Cameron: And I'm back in the game!

He was just so sweet to her throughout the entire film that it was obvious he wanted her for the right reasons. Cameron was such an inspiration for me, because he gave me hope that somehow, there were probably nice guys in high school and I just have to wait for that guy to come around.

Even if Cameron can't throw a punch to save his life, he was there for Bianca when she needed him. With such a sweet attitude, how could he not have made the list? Cameron, with me, things couldn't get better.
