The update of updates

I haven't updated in quite some time for some reasons:

  1. Friday: I had my first CSDC meeting and I am in team Foxtrot. Yeah baby! Ma'am Puyat and Ma'am Tanjangco are kick-ass senior officers and I'm quite excited for the actual thing. I'm a bit scared though because I have this feeling I'm going to mess up BIG time. I always seem to anyway. I got home late and I was so sleepy, I dropped dead.

I had absolutely no idea what happened to me that evening, because I was just so tired. The school bus brought me home late due to the annoying traffic along Katipunan and that really got me angry. To think we were only three in the school bus, and I got home even later. Then again, Greenhills is always a pain in the ass in the afternoons, so I must have known what I was getting into.

  2. Saturday: I wake up so so so late and deliberate whether I would consider myself a useless student if I attended Fete De La Musique at Eastwood with my cousins and siblings. More on this later, but let's just say, I am a very very very very happy girl.

    Seriously, I'm still smiling now.

  3. Sunday: It's Father's Day and we go eat out with my dad. Obviously, it's his day. I try to cram as much as I can as I am such an irresponsible student who just doesn't know when to do her work. Evil kid. I go to mass in the morning with Guel and Pamy and we bump into our village friends -- not that I have too many.

The point is, I remembered that Allan is already in college! Oh my! We talk about how he is at UST. He's taking Architecture and all that jazz. The thing is, it's so cool because we're usually in the same school group: grade school, high school, etc; and now, he's in college and I'm still in high school. Sure, I'm a senior, but all of a sudden he seems so old.

I'm happy for him though, because he's got a whole new world of friends to conquer and I know how excited he is about that. It makes me see how fast school is. He was just in Grade 7 before and now, he's a freshman in college. Soon, we'll be in the same school group again.

Today, things have gone absolutely fast. I didn't think it would be this quick. I was so freaking nervous this morning because I was going to read the First Reading in the Holy Spirit Mass. That's a big thing, because it was also Bishop Soc's last mass at school. The tributes to him were so sad. I almost cried. It's such a shame. We told him to come back for our graduation though, so that's a good thing.

The thing is, I lost my voice. How? I'll expound later on, but the fact is, this morning, I couldn't talk. I still can't right now, but it's not important anymore, as there are no people to spread the word of God to. Everyone listens to the First Reading. Or at least, I can admit that it's the one I remember the most, apart from the Gospel. Now, how am I supposed to read when I have no voice? I don't want to disappoint Hani either. She was so stressed already planning the entire thing and I felt really sorry for her.

I eventually run to the clinic and they give me some Diphlam. I'm not very sure how that's spelled, but it was like that anyway and voila! I got my voice back... somewhat. I could barely speak before the mass and I was trying my best to preserve my fragile voice too. I was praying so hard, I guess God took pity on me and gave me a voice for the reading, because right now, I can't speak. I can, but I don't exactly sound very pleasant.

But that doesn't matter, because my job has been done and done well, according to my teacher. Trust them to inflate an ego.

I am one lucky girl.

Vanessa Carlton

The Poet
Vanessa Carlton isn't my favorite person in the world either, but I have to say that she's a talented girl though. She can play the piano really well and she has a fairly okay voice -- I'm not exactly the authority on this.

I thought her song, A Thousand Miles was pretty good, but her other songs are a bit forgettable. She supposedly has a new album out and that should be interesting. Now that she's with Stephan Jenkins from Third Eye Blind it would be pretty cool to see if she got influenced by his musical style. I heard he produced some of her songs, or something like that. Other than that, I actually thought she was on her way out of the music scene already, but obviously, the people over at Teen People don't seem to think so.

Fete De La Musique

This is the third version I'm writing of this. Why? Well, maybe I'm not meant to gloat or expound on the topic, but it's freaking me out how everytime I've written quite a lot of crap, either I close the window accidentally, the Internet Explorer decides to play games with me, or I'm just being plain stupid.

The thing is, last Saturday, I was so tired from the day before that I woke up in the afternoon. I deliberate in my head whether I have the right to go and abandon all the school work I had planned on doing. So much for the resolution of being a more responsible student this year. First weekend into the school year and I've become a full fledged delinquent.

Pamy was set on going for the jazz and lounge. PB was still making up his mind as I took a bath. Guel would only go if PB was going and Niq said she'd drop by. Jeannie said she'd be there and a bunch of Pamy's friends were going to show up, so I was the only confused chick. The thing is, I really did have a ton of work to do and by going to the Fete I would wasting so much time.

Right now, waste isn't exactly the word that comes to mind. It was like a right of passage for me. Not being too uptight about schedules, because I'm such an obsessive compulsive when it comes to school and going to Eastwood was like a break from my usual self. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed what I did.

I had so much fun going from stage to stage even if it rained and got canceled. Sure, Sandwich, Bamboo, Rivermaya and a whole lot of other bands weren't able to play, but I had the time of my life hanging out with my sister's friends. Tasha, Jenny, Christine, Chabelli, Karla, and a lot more people who are such a blast to be with. There were so many people you wouldn't believe it. The whole world was there -- literally. You couldn't walk past a stage and not meet at least ten people you knew. That was surely a night to remember and next year, I'm going without a doubt in my mind.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENING:

  • Meeting Jackie Chan
It's too bad, I don't have the picture in my camera, but Jackie Chan was eating in Via Mare with Bamboo. No kidding, I even asked for his autograph, but he was too shy to sign them. He did smile for the picture though.
Actually, Jackie was Tasha and Jenny's boss at Sony who happens to deny that he looks like the said actor, when he really did look like him. People would pass by him and give him shocked glances because he looked like the Asian actor. It was fun to pull the prank on him by going up to him and asking for his autograph. We all got a good laugh from that one.

  • Having a sleepover at my cousins house
I haven't had one with Niq, Guel, and Jeannie altogether in ages and it was fun to do it like old times. Although, a sign that we are aging is that we actually sleep during the sleepovers. I remember when we wouldn't even bother to rest. The said house happens to be in Eastwood, a very apt location. We were ready to sneak in at 4 am, but that obviously didn't happen due to the raining and the cancellation. Still, it was cool having time to spend with my cousins.

  • Meeting two cute guys
Sure, I looked like trash when I met them both and the fact that one of them is already taken and the other one obviously didn't give a damn about me, I don't care. They brightened up the evening and spiced things up. Tasha: next time warn me please. Things are certainly unexpected over at Fete and I have learned a lesson, always try to look half decent. Tasha decided to be my fairy godmother for the evening and re-introduced to some guys whom I had met before but have obviously forgotten me -- as usual -- and let's just say it was a tad awkward. The guy barely saw me and instead paid more attention to my cousin. Sure, I'm not supposed to be expecting anything, but a nice warning would do.

  • The brief encounter that I will forever remember
I'm usually cool around celebrities, but I don't know what struck me when I saw Marc Abaya from the tent outside Fazoli's. I don't know what came over me exactly, but I just ran up to him and asked for an autograph and a picture. He was certainly game about it and his gracious girlfriend even stepped aside so that I could have the photo of a lifetime. The thing is, I was so giddy afterwards, I coudln't help but keep on smiling. It was crazy. He was absurdly hot and just so freaking sweet. Haaaaay... my heart still beats.

The moment, he got down on his knees and asked for my name, Two Trick Pony's lyrics were going through my head. I have been waiting for you all night, under the glow of the satellite.

So I'm a delinquent, who cares? I'm a senior now and I met Marc Abaya. What more could I ask for right now?

Chad Michael Murray

The Good Guy
Ooh boy, do I have something to say about Mr. Murray. Well, now that I think about it, I don't really know this guy too well. But what I do have to say about him is that he's pretty fine. No, actually not just pretty fine, but amazingly hot!

If there was a list of hot guys that I had to conjure up, he would definitely be in it. The thing is, this guy can't go wrong either. He's tried absolutely everything with almost all aspects that he's pretty versatile. Obviously, a fan is speaking.

LOOKS: He's had the long hair in Freaky Friday, the spiky cut in Gilmore Girls and the clean cut look in One Tree Hill and what do I have to say about all three? He looks freaking hot in all of them. I don't know whether it's his face shape or just his face, but he looks really good with any cut.

ROLES: He doesn't really stray too much from the nice boy vibe, but he has done mean roles like Tristan from Gilmore Girls. That character was a real piss off especially when he was there ruining Rory's play, but he still ended up charming the audience -- me especially. Then he did the rebel dude with the soft heart in Freaky Friday and he seemed so right at home in that role too. But I think my favorite to date is Lucas Scott in One Tree Hill. Athletes are always fun to watch and he has such a naive yet determined character. I can't help but feel endeared to him.

Basically, I'm all for having him on the hot list. He deserves it and I don't care if he's a one-show wonder -- which actually can't be true anymore, as he's had other shows, maybe not as the lead, but technicalities say yes. And in the words of Drew Barrymore in Charlie's Angels, "The Chad was great." Indeed, Drew. Indeed.

Anne Hathaway

The Princess Next Door
Anne is definitely in my list. I just feel her. Sure, the character, Mia from the book, Princess Diaries didn't exactly describe her, but despite the physical inconsistencies, she fit the part just right.

Anne not only has a pretty face, but enough talent to go with it. I'm not saying she deserves to win an Oscar or anything along the lines of award winning, but she's definitely someone who is very likeable. With her charm and her niceness, how can you not even get drawn to her?

The fact that she isn't a waif-ish model is a big plus for me too. I think that it's really healthy of her to not starve herself just because the Hollywood body type says you have to be a size zero. She's not a self-proclaimed role model and that's an even better thing, because she doesn't claim to be something she's not.

The thing I like most about her is how her stunning good looks don't get to her head. Her dad always told her that it was intelligence over beauty and I totally agree with her there. Of course, it didn't hurt for her since she's practically both.

I definitely want to be like her and it wouldn't hurt if I were a princess too. She really fits the princess role and I wish I could play one too. She makes me see that a normal girl really can turn into a full fledged princess.

Now all I have to do is look for my fairy godmother to transform me into that beautiful swan. She's definitely hot though. She's all that.

Just one last thing before I hurry off to do the zillions of more important things for school that I have been neglecting: The new Yahoo! Messenger is so cute. I can't get off it. Damn!

Nick Cannon

Triple Threat
Triple Threat? Well, I don't really know what the crap that means, but if it means he's three times hot then I definitely beg to differ. Nick Cannon is not my cup of tea. In fact, I don't know how to classify him.

He's funny, for sure. The Nick Cannon Show on Nickolodeon really got me laughing. I like the cafeteria food episode, but other than that, I'm kind of neutral as to what I think of him. I don't hate him and I don't like him either. I hate being neutral, but unfortunately, that's all I can really be when it comes to this guy. He's just not someone I bother to think about.

I've established something though. If I were the editors at Teen People he wouldn't be on the list, for sure.
