I was "studying" when the rest of my family watched it, so since it's a Wednesday, and I was too lazy to turn to the computer on, I popped in a DVD instead.
I have to say, the movie was so amazing! Maybe I'm just a sucker for a heart-wrenching story, but JM Barrie was such a nice guy. Of course, the fact that Johnny Depp played him so wonderfully, complete with accent, didn't hurt one bit. I was hoping he'd end up with Kate Winslet in the movie, or at least show a little bit of affection. But obviously, it's not that kind of movie.
It was just so sweet, because he was really so nice to the children, especially Peter. Now this kid Peter, played by Freddie Highmore is one lucky kid. Not only does he play Peter opposite Johnny Depp in this film, he is ALSO Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!!! How cool is that? He gets to star in two Johnny Depp films. And a little piece of interesting trivia is that both Johnny and Freddie share the same birthday. They were both born on June 9! How coincidental is that?
Anyway, the film was serioulsy heart-warming (even if it was already so hot -- weather-wise) and it even made me cry. The tears were welling up in my eyes the entire time, and by the end of the movie, I was practically gasping for breath. Full-blown crying fest.
Wednesdays are so much fun. I better live it up. All my free mid-week breaks will probably only last till the first semester ends. And it's a full week of crap again. Still, I wish I could go to Neverland. With Johnny, of course.
