Bet On It
I'm a self-confessed chick flick addict. Today, I scored free tickets to the premiere of "What Happens in Vegas" and I don't regret dragging my tired ass to Robinson's Galleria (so highschool!) to watch the well-balanced romantic-comedy.

Lately, romantic comedies are either too romantic cheesy with little humor or laugh out loud movies with little chemistry. "Vegas" proves you can do a little bit of both genres and do both well. I'm not Cameron Diaz or Ashton Kutcher's number one fan, but after the movie, I'm starting to rethink my induction into their fan clubs. A bit spoiler-ish )

Definitely a fabulous and funny watch (with your girlfriends or your boyfriend), "What Happens in Vegas" doesn't necessarily have to stay in Vegas.

Pre-lash?
I'm quite excited for the "summer movies" because the loser in me hasn't been able to watch anything in the cinemas lately other than "The Other Boleyn Girl" (which I thought was wonderful but depressing). Natalie and Scarlett didn't go their usual route of good girl-bad girl respectively so it was a nice twist. And Eric Bana did a wonderful favor to King Henry who was nowhere near as hot as him. EVER.

Anyway, I've been pretty psyched about Iron Man just because it's got Robert Downey Jr. in it. I saw the trailer a few weeks back and I've got to admit, it's pretty jampacked. Then I read this and apparently, I'm not alone.
The problem is, with all this cool stuff being flung at us, is there going to be any cool left to blow us away when the film finally hits? I know, this isn’t the first time I’ve said this, but there’s just so many new promo shots and trailers/TV spots being published, the main villain being revealed, the clips with the tank, battles being shown and now a lot of the development of the armour as well, my worry is growing that the final product will be ruined. [Karl Hungus]
The Onion was so moved by the trailer they even mocked it. Watch below. It's pretty hilarious how much work The Onion put into making a mock news clip for it. Behind the cut for the clip )Somehow I'm still excited to see this in the big screen. Summer is all about the big movies and this is going to be one of those films I go to the cinemas for.

Non-Academic, Non-Virtual Setting
While laboring for my BC 103 final script, I had the pleasure of struggling with Sophie and Caleb. For three straight days and nights, we would check up on each other and curse to the highest heavens asking ourselves when sembreak would finally come. Lo and behold, it's here.

So on our second day after surviving the dreaded script writing final, we planned on meeting up on a non-virtual (real life), non-academic (outside UP) setting. And since Caleb was uber excited to watch Stardust, we decided we'd catch the movie at Trinoma today. + )

day tripper

So yes, I won't be allowed out of the house for a few days, but I so wouldn't mind hanging out with these two again (hopefully in a non-academic, non-virtual setting). I had a ton of fun today and I really do hope I get to do a repeat of this, hopefully minus the bombing too.

I'll be praying for the families of all the victims of the Glorietta bombing.

Not So Secret Heart
I should really stay away from the computer. Today, I spent my free afternoon in the library and apparently, I can get A LOT of work done there. It's funny though because the CMC library is the NOISIEST library in the universe. Seriously. When it's quiet, people are still talking. When it's noisy, there's a party going on.

The librarians kept ringing the bell and there would be a temporary hush before the noise would start back up again. It's crazy, I tell you. Nevertheless, I got my share of the RRL done, so I'm really happy with myself.

Izzles + RRL = LOVE

Today, I also met up with Kim because she's finally back in town! We watched Transformers, and because I'm late and everyone has moved on to Harry Potter, I just have to say + )

i'll try venturing into non-vague-ness... crummy schedule: check. no-talking: check. excessive collection of tissue: check. wilted sampaguita: check. talikod-genic: check. all adding up to a perfect 10.

Everybody needs help. Even Spider-Man.
Summer is all about summer movies and I guess Spiderman did a great job of starting it off for me. We don't usually watch movies on opening weekend because the movie houses are still so full, but I guess my dad's feet were really itching to go out, so we braved the crowds and ended up watching in Shangri-La. We usually watch in Rockwell, but since my dad was too tired to drive all the way there, we didn't mind watching in Shang. + )

But really, the main event for me was James Franco! Could Harry Osborn get any hotter? Seriously. + ) But really, this film has so many cute guys, Pamy and I were fully satisfied. It had James for me. Topher Grace for Pamy. And well, I guess Paola will be left with Tobey Maguire, who I feel was out-gwapo-ed by his co-stars + )

So yeah, I'd like there to be a fourth Spiderman, but I don't know how that'll be. Summer movies are rolling around. I can't wait for: Shrek the 3rd, Pirates 3, Oceans 13, and Harry Potter 5 (Fifth already!?!)! So many summer movies, so little time.
