Nobody Does It Better
Am I the last person on earth to find out about this???

I've been reading this series since high school and there rumors that it would be turned into a movie starring my favorite Lindsay Lohan. When I heard that, I almost died. I hate it when my favorite books get turned into movies that don't live up to the book. But then that rumor faded and I went back to reading about these Upper East side rich girls, whose lives I secretly wanted to live out. Now I read about this:
On the heels of Fox's cancellation of his series "The O.C." after four seasons, creator Josh Schwartz got a green light from The CW for his teen soap pilot "Gossip Girl." "Girl" is based on a book series about upper-class Manhattan teens and their parents and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Alloy Entertainment. -- Taken from TV Week
Blake Lively is set to play Serena in the upcoming show and Leighton Meester will play Blair. Blair's love interest, Nate Archibald, will be played by Chace Crawford. Taylor Momsen is playing Jenny Humphrey and Penn Badgley is playing Jenny's brother Dan Humphrey, and their father, Rufus Humphrey, will be played by Matthew Settle. Ed Westwick will play the character Chuck. Kelly Rutherford will play Serena and Eric's mother Lillian van der Woodsen. Blair's mother, Eleanor Waldorf will be played by Florencia Lozano. Nan Zhang will play Kati and her friend Isabel will be played by Nicole Fiscella. -- taken from Wikipedia
In fairness, the girls are pretty. I was so afraid they'd miscast the characters and since this book is so character-centric, it would have been awful if things got messed up. But the casting is according to Wikipedia, so that's not sure yet, but if it's correct, then go Josh Schwartz cause I loved The O.C. so this should be pretty good. But good luck to the people behind this too because the book has quite a fanbase and since I'm sure they'll be basing it very loosely, fans might be disappointed. Still, I'll try to keep an open mind about it.

With One Tree Hill ending, Gilmore Girls gone and The O.C. axed, at least I have something new to look forward to. Seriously, the fall season cannot come any sooner.

This is Why Events Unnerve Me
I've done nothing but this sembreak.

Every year, we go to my lola's house (my mom's mom) for All Saints Day so we can all troop to my lolo's crypt to pay our respects. And since my family doesn't like to get into all the traffic going to my lolo's grave (my dad's dad) in Marikina, we go a few days later instead.

Julia came over too and things were much more fun when she was around. Of course her dad was exhausted trying to feed her and Tita Jeannie looked like she still hadn't recovered from their trick or treating the day before. Having a baby kid around is still so much more fun. Then again, I'm just a spectator. Unlike Julia, it wasn't hard to feed the us at all )

My sembreak is so near over it's not even funny. This was my shortester sembreak. I wish it would have been a little longer. I want to prolong having to enroll myself as I still lack Comm 140 and an MST. Whee.

Turn The Page
Since Idol season is over (for me), I've decided to change layouts/moodtheme/icons/userinfo. The thing is, I'm really interested in switching styles, but I happen to suck at trying to figure out how to make the sidebar in flexible squares work out.

[info]woodycakes[info]woodycakes[info]woodycakes

Alas, I failed in that area. No worries though, I've always been drawn to the simplicity of The Boxer. One day, I shall conquer that crazy layout. In the meantime, I shall indulge myself and my current obsession with Daniel Henney and Spring Waltz. I'm back to episode 4 again, except this time, I am armed with SUBTITLES! Definitely so much better. I have yet to fix my icons and the userinfo, but all in good time.

I watched The Da Vinci Code movie last weekend and contrary to what all the critics have to say, I actually liked it. I wouldn't pay to watch it again in the cinema, but I would definitley buy it on DVD. I have to say at first i was against Tom Hanks playing Langdon, but throughout the movie, he definitely proved why he got the role.

Then again, I'm no critic, so I'm so easy to please.

5 Days till [info]_lexizzle comes home!!!

Seriously, I didn't even think he would be able to come home thanks to the hullaballo at JetStar. Thank goodness that's over.

And a HUMONGOUS thanks to Niq and Tita Letty for the autographed-books-to-be. I am a HUGE Meg Cabot fan and I read her blog religiously. And apparently, she was at the same Book Fair that Niq was in. So gorgeous cousin actually gets autographed books for me!!! Sweeet!!!!

Squee!!! ♥

Patty Appreciation Week
Every year, I count down to my birthday (even if it is in secret), and the build up always gets too much that the actual day of birth doesn't quite justify all the hype. I get so excited that on the day itself, I expect too much to happen, and I know that it's just not going to happen.

This year, I've decided that I won't only spend one day celebrating my birthday. I just don't think that one day is enough to commemorate the day I was born.

So I came up with Patty Appreciation Week. Starting last Sunday, I promised myself I would appreciate myself more than I normally do by doing a little something everyday to make me feel good about the upcoming birthday.

Sunday
I went DVD shopping with
Pamy instead of going to the cinemas (which was really the original plan). Still, I was very much satisfied with my finds. I bought Proof with the hottie of all hotties, Jake and Havoc with gorgeous Anne. I watched Proof that evening and instantly fell in love with it. Jake was so damn hot in the movie! The entire math geek playing in a rock band and being completely hot was just too much for me.

Monday
Despite the wonderful Soc Sci 2 class I had to endure, God loves me and granted me half the day off. My Env Sci teacher wasn't in town so I didn't have to attend class. I went home early instead and fixed my layout instead. My LJ [info]woodycakes makes me really happy so why not devote some time to it on my appreciation week? the layout's pretty much the same, I just changed the header and the colors. I'm still attached to The Boxer, so it's going to stay like this for quite some time. And since I don't have Pol Sci 14 student of the day to dread the next day, I could hang out in front of the computer, guilt-free.

Tuesday
I was supposedly off at 1pm, but because I was to attend my first MCO General Assembly at 4pm, I decided I'd bum at the library. But who the hell was I kidding? I jumped on a jeepney and headed straight over to National Bookstore along Katipunan. I absolutely love ♥ books so I totally didn't mind spending a few hours there. The library is full of books too. But they're just not the books I want to read. Horrible mentality for a student, but it is Patty Appreciation Week, so I deserve to be happy. I was going to buy The Devil Wears Prada because Anne is starring in the movie adaptation of the book, but I controlled myself and reminded myself to save money. Something I haven't been doing recently.

So far, Patty Appreciation Week is turning out great -- so far.

Gulped Down some Felix Felicis
Before I even start this, I just want to greet my daddy...

Happy Birthday Daddy!!! I ♥♥♥ you!

And I thought today was going to be a bad day. Sure, it started off horribly, with me waking up late and having to lug around 72 bars of soap on my back. I was seriously wishing I could take some Felix Felicis!!! (By the way I finished Harry Potter book 6 in ONE DAY!!! More on this some other time) I just didn't want to go to school. I wasn't that lucky. The Sona was over and thus classes would resume. However, my luck started turning to a more positive light when Math 1 was cancelled.

I'm not Math 1's biggest fan, but I don't hate it either. I'd choose it over solving problems I can't find solutions to. Still, I'm not complaining that my professor has a lot of other responsibilities. Unfortunately, Pan Pil 17 did push through. No worries though, as we finally discussed an essay I was interested in. It was on Barbie. And apparently, Jack Ryan (yup, like in all those Tom Clancy books and Harisson Ford movies), who also happened to be a missile and jet designer, was the man who is responsible for Barbie's very unrealistic measurements. Why am I not surprised a man designed her?

And of course, PE was not to be escaped. It's not like I've already mastered the first 5 waves techniques that our uber flexible dance master/professor has taught us, I've got to learn 5 more complicated wave techniques. I'll be lucky to scrape a 3 on this subject. I have to say though, I'm having a ton of fun.

But my luck was turning out great, almost as if I had a swig of some Felix. Instead of commuting home in the rain, Coach Edwin saw me walking and offered me a ride home. How sweet. I was saved from one jeepney ride! Then I remembered I hadn't gotten my dad anything yet, so I of course solve this with my specialty... balloons!!! I've been going to that balloon store for all my friends all those years in high school, and now my dad was going to be the recipient.

Unfortunately, my stealth skills were a bit off and as I walked home, my dad caught me through his window and asked my mom why I was carrying balloons?!? How dense can my dad get? He honestly didn't think of himself. Then again, at 51, how many people realy receive balloons.

Tomorrow, I've got no class. But if I get the urge to get out of bed, I might swing by the library thanks to English 10. That's if I even wake up.
