I love Jane Austen and her works (and the adaptations that come out of her work) so when I read that girl crush Camilla Belle is going to be part of a modern day adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, I flipped. Prada To Nada puts a Latina twist to the story when Camilla and her co-star Alex Vega trying to make it in East LA after their dad dies leaving them with no money. Fingers crossed for a good adaptation. [Total Film] » )

Let the Games Begin?[Goodreads]
My four month vacation gave me the luxury of reading books all day and everyday. Unfortunately, employment does take away a good 8+ hours of my day and thus don't have as much time to read actual books (with fic dominating my life).

But when [info]poetrytoprose (and everyone else on my twitter feed) raving about the first two books of The Hunger Games Trilogy, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give these books a try. I'm usually a chick-lit kind of girl, (sci-fi ain't really my thing) and I wasn't so hot about more vampires or werewolves or supernatural whatever.

So when I was informed that it was purely human, set in a post-apocalyptic North America (known as Panem), I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. And boy am I glad I took a chance. I breezed through book 1 in ONE day and finished the 2nd book in 3 despite being at work. These book own me. » )

Meet Cute[R-McAdams.com ]
I saw that the posters for The Time Traveler's Wife were in the 'coming soon' section at Trinoma. Could this be a sign that I might actually get to see the movie on opening day? Because after seeing some sneak peeks and behind the scenes footage of it yesterday, I don't know if I could wait any longer.

How adorable can Rachel McAdams get?! I was so happy to see her in Comic Con and now that she's doing press for The Time Traveler's Wife with always handsome, Eric Bana, I swear I wish I could have gone to a Barnes and Noble signing like [info]meesters! Some girls have all the luck! So jealous!!!Read more... )

Dark Secrets Revealed[All Movie Photos]
I guess I have to start this by saying I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan there is. I loved reading the books and I enjoy watching the movies, so I guess that makes me the bottom feeder of fans. I can't quote stuff and remember details, but I certainly enjoy the movies, so this entire entry will practically be coming from someone who's sort of forgotten the details of the book (and is easy to please -- when have I not been?)

Nevertheless, despite my being a supposed not-quite-fan, I actually woke up early (for me) to watch the first screening at Trinoma, which was full, despite it being a working/school day. We were lucky enough to still score tickets 5 minutes to showing time.

Before I forget: It's surpassed The Dark Knight with midnight screening ticket sales earning $22.2 million. Also, I really like all their posters, cause I'm shallow like that. i forgot to bring the scarf I crocheted AGAIN. Read more... )

The Time Traveler's Wife
Here and Now[Goodreads]
I can't really form coherent thoughts right now because after finishing the book, I was still in tears. Starting the book already got me all choked up, so imagine how I was when I actually went to the more heart-wrenching parts of it.

It's funny cause this book has been lying around [info]jamypye's bookshelf for ages. She read it a long time ago and that in itself is a feat as Pamy barely reads/finishes books (nowadays). Meaning this book must have been brilliant for Pamy to finish it in a decent amount of time.

Still, if it wasn't for the movie with Rachel McAdams coming out, I don't think I would have the final push to actually read the book. I guess I needed my love for McAdams to get me to read it. And no regrets. It was beautiful. [info]_lexizzle walked in on me crying over it and needless to say he was kinda shocked to see his sister in tears at 2 in the morning over a book. I'm a softy, bring on the tissues. Read more... )
