Girl Crush: Yoon Eun Hye

There was a phase in my life wherein I wanted to be Britney Spears. No, not wanted to be LIKE Britney. I wanted to BE Britney. This was during the Justin-Britney phase, where Britney was the ultimate girl to be. She had the career to envy; the body to die for; the boyfriend everyone wanted. This is all in the past. Obviously, right now, she's not the best role model. I figured I should start looking for new role models to look up to. Anyway, after much a little thought, I realized I wannabe Yoon Eun Hye.  )

See Yoo Later

I figured, since I had a song of the month, I might as well have a guy of the month too. Since 2008 marks the return to delusions-ville for me (this means, I'm done with real life crushes, and have decided to return to the glory of celebrity crushes), why not start the year right by going all in.

Mr. January, is Gong Yoo, a South Korean actor best known for his most recent drama, Coffee Prince, as cocky rich boy, Choi Han Kyul. Alas for me, I got on the Yoo Train too late. As he was scheduled to enlist in mandatory military service today. This means, no Gong Yoo for 2 entire years. This sent me on a mad dash for goodies. I watched him on Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy (don't let the weird name mislead you, it's so funny!) as the adorable Park Tae In. And now I'm drooling over him in the Sydney-set One Fine Day where he displays his six pack abs and his flair for the English language (watch out Daniel Henney!) And because he's Mr. January, I don't mind sharing. BEWARE: Heavy Pic Spam ahead )

I Love My Coffee Prince
I haven't watched a decent Koreanovela since Princess Hours in 2006 so it was a good thing I saw the previews for Coffee Prince on GMA 7. Thing is, I can't sit through days upon days of dubbed koreanovelas, so it was a great thing [info]jamypye bought me the entire season. And guess what I've been doing for 2 days now? I finished 17 episodes of love love love.
The life of Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?

I don't plan on spoiling it, but it's definitely worth the watch. I love Yoon Eun Hae since Princess Hours so I was looking forward to seeing her portray a male! And then of course there was the hotness that is Gong Yoo! Seriously. For me, he's like a hybrid of Jo In Seong and Lee Dong Wook (his hair at least)! Not a bad combination at all. And though it didn't have as plenty "kissing scenes" as Princess Hours, its humor and fast paced storyline is just as great. Not too many dragging scenes and the side stories aren't boring either. + )

With a plotline that crazy, I threw all my logical thinking out the window and just enjoyed the ride. If you let go of the fact that YEH is portraying a girl pretending to be a boy and just believe it, the show will prove to be really really funny and enjoyable. Definitely a great way to end my 2007.

Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys
So [info]tonksified tagged me and because life is leaning on the academic side (which means useless, narrative entries), I'm giving in to the tagging. Besides, after reading the "rules" of this little meme, how can I freaking resist?

Before I forget, I tag: [info]jamypye, [info]mellowdee, [info]celeni, [info]outof_focus and [info]heartshapelove

[+] Put all of them IN ORDER of your lust for them. (5 - 1, 1 is the hottest.)

Ten Things that Made My Day
Thanks to a Philippine Idol Live show-bereft weekend, I felt like this week would not turn out right. In fact, as I walked out of the village this morning (really early at that), things looked dismal. There was no Pamy to gush with on Sunday evenings exciting events (She was in Bangkok). There was no Philippine Idol Live Show to reminisce. There was no kick-out to anticipate. There was a BC 101 first production to worry about. Things just weren't going well.

Still behind every dark cloud, there's bound to be some light shining through and by the end of the day, things were better than great. In fact, they were 10 times better )

Stl wearing it now

To think I was so negative at the beginning of the day. I'm glad the middle part and ending totally made up for it. I have a feeling the rest of the week will fly by just like that. Hello weekend.
