Glossy Groupie: Kristen Comes on Strong in 'Vogue'

Made It [Kristen Stewart Fan]
There are literally too many pretty covers this month that I wasn't quite sure who to put before the cut. From Andrew on Details to Leighton snagging TWO covers to Natalie getting In Style to Rooney's first outing as Lisbeth Salander on W, I was pretty confused. But then Kristen's Vogue cover materialized and obviously there was no question left.

The blonde hair, the Proenza, the behind the scenes video, Vogue pulled all the stops on this one. I love that Kristen looked like she'd actually wear this on the red carpet and yet has that Vogue-touch. Best set of magazines for my favorite month.

On the roles she chooses: "I choose things that are so overly ambitious, and if I can’t do stuff like that, I don’t want to be doing this. A compulsion absolutely fills you"

On getting Bella right: "[Bella is] a character who is embedded in so many people’s psyches at this point. It’s starting to enter my head a lot more than it used to because it’s at the end and it’s come such a long way. I just want the fans of the book to be happy. I don’t necessarily care about anyone else."
Other than the fact that I already love this girl to bits, it's so wonderful to have her on the cover of Vogue. I get she's not exactly the most stylish or fashionable person but her editorial really felt easy and natural and not pretentious at all.

on starting her career young: "At that time I just thought it was fun. I don’t think I would ever have been able to be an actress had I not started at nine years old. I would have been the last person to stand up and say, ‘I’d like to star in the play.’"

On things she can no longer do: "There’s no way to eloquently put this. I just can’t go to the mall. It bothers me that I can’t be outside very often. And also to not ever be just ‘some girl’ again. Just being some chick at some place, that’s gone."
I especially loved watching her behind the scenes video seeing just how shocked she is she's on the cover of Vogue too. When she meets the designers from Proneza Schouler, she just seemed really awed by them and by their clothes. I'm hoping I find some extra cash so I can snag this one in real life.

On what she’d do if she could go unrecognized for a day: "I would make out in the park! [Laughs.] That’s the thing I would most enjoy doing in New York, and it’s something I’ll never do. I’d also have loud, public conversations with my friends about personal things. Even if no one is paying attention—and most of the time, no one cares—you never know who is at the next"
I miss reading InStyle and lately they've been featuring my favorite people so perhaps it's time to go back (and read back-issues, cause I'm cheap like that). Natalie looked amazing on the cover and in the inside pages of this one. I'm guessing they shot this way before she got pregnant because you can't see a bump at all -- then again she's either laying down or it's just a close-up so yeah, can't tell.

On the qualities she looks for in a romantic partner: "I look for all the same things I would in a friend. Obviously, you need the sexual attraction too, so it’s like your best friend who you are also really attracted to."
This'll probably be the last of the magazines unless others follow suit with her Oscar nomination and the pregnancy and all. I wouldn't mind an Elle cover or another one after this. I'm insatiable okay?!

On her Gossip Girl character, Blair Waldorf: “Blair is…. I don’t know what she is… I have to enter a completely foreign body to sympathize with Blair and her decisions. You know, Blair grew up very savvy, well-educated, and lonely. I think her mother is not the most supportive person and… Blair is very competitive and conniving, and it obviously comes, usually, from a very human place, but she makes decisions that I would never make.”

On her Country Strong character, Chiles Stanton: “She is so scared of people thinking of her as this ignorant, vapid, pretty face, and you know, I can totally understand where she’s coming from because, especially if you come from Dallas, Texas, you’re a beauty queen - you don’t play the guitar, you’re writing seemingly meaningless pop songs. All that I can relate to, totally. It’s sad and sweet at the same time.”
I love that Leighton didn't get just one cover this month, she got FOUR I think, including the international versions of some other magazines. And really, how adorable is this girl in the behind the scenes video?! I really just want to hang out with her and have fun. She seems like she's really enjoying herself.

On if she still feels having a boyfriend isn’t a priority: “I would say the same thing today as well. [But] I think that the importance of love is really strong for me in my life, whether it’s a guy or a friend or just my puppy. I think love changes you over time, and whether you have good or bad experiences, you always grow and learn from it.”

On starting a family: “I want a family someday and I know that I have to let love in to create that and I think there is someone out there for me, but I’m not on some crazy hunt for that right now.”
I haven't touched Seventeen in a really long time but this is Leighton's second cover for them. I guess playing Blair does still make her cater to the younger kids. of course, she was pretty cute in her behind the scenes video too for this one.

On the scene in The Social Network where he loses it: “That day and night of shooting was one of my favorite experiences. I was actually proud of myself because I didn’t care what I was doing. I was literally not judging myself. And it was so f—ing beautiful for a second….I felt more like a man than I’ve ever felt.”

On his role in Spider-Man: “I see it as a massive challenge in many ways. To make it authentic. To make the character live and breathe in a new way. The audience already has a relationship with many different incarnations of the character. I do, as well. I’m probably going to be the guy in the movie theater shouting abuse at myself. But I have to let that go. No turning back. And I wouldn’t want to.”
When this cover came out, I nearly peed myself for real. HOW HANDSOME IS ANDREW ON THE COVER?! Details was 10 for 10 almost in their cover boys last year so this year, so far, they're doing very very good in my book. And then they threw in this behind the scenes video and I see Andrew with all that shyness and I melt more.

On landing the role and becoming famous: “I realized immediately how much hard work it was going to be, and how much of a minefield it was going to be in terms of all the s–t that comes with it. Stuff that I would like to not have any part of. I mean visibility and being recognized walking down the street. I’m holding out a naïve and ignorant hope that won’t happen…. I hope I never blow up. I hope that I have to audition for every single job I want. I hope that I’m always struggling, really. You develop when you’re struggling. When you’re struggling, you get stronger.”

On red carpet events: “Those events that look like so much fun in the photos you see – it’s mostly people looking over their shoulders at everyone. They’re miserable, those parties.”
I'm really excited for Spiderman! Sure, he got snubbed at the Oscars but i'm getting over it slowly. At least Spiderman will have such a huge promotional tour, we'll be guaranteed Andrew for months and months to come. Perhaps a GQ cover is up next?!

On his privacy: "My biggest thing has always been privacy. With an interview such as this where the questions are about me, I struggle to express myself. I have an immediate answer in my head of what I’d say, but sometimes I feel that it would be too honest. So these wheels of censorship start going around my head."

On what he does in his spare time: "I don’t really leave the house that much. When I’m away filming, I never really get to watch any films, or I slip away from my books and the novels I’ve been wanting to read, so when I get home I really just kick my feet up and read everything I meant to read and write what I couldn’t write, or watch what I just couldn’t drag myself to the theater to watch when I was in a different city."
Not the cover of T Magazine but a pretty good feature on him. The NY Times magazine always has really good interviews and so I was shocked to see really hot pictures to go with it too. Grey ain't drab at all when Garrett's sporting it.

On her audition process: "They shot me in the subway in L.A. In full hair and makeup with a motorcycle. Everyday they had a new request. On a Monday morning, [director David Fincher] called me in, and I said, ‘what do you want me to do with my hair now?’ I was at the end of my rope. He told me I had the part. I hadn’t even read the script yet."

David Fincher on Rooney: "wanted her from the beginning. Rooney maybe a trust-fund baby from football royalty but she’s level headed and hard working. It’s so odd how who people are comes out in auditions. We didn’t make it easy for Rooney and there was no way to dissuade her."
And my heart stopped when this magazine cover came out. How could it not?! I just finished reading the first book and then bam! Lisbeth is debuted to the world. I'm a little worried about the changes they'll be making, but in Fincher, I trust. Plus this W Magazine seemed like a really good move. I'm looking forward to more PR about this movie and Rooney.

On her biggest accomplishment: “Staying strong and not changing, not being fed off this weird energy that exists in this [entertainment] business. All my friends and my family say, ‘You haven’t changed, you stay the same person.”

On her close relationship with her mom: “[She] always told me to never grow up too quickly. She’d say, ‘Camilla, when you are an adult, it just goes downhill from here. Enjoy it while you can. I never really understood that until I got older, but now I’m really grateful she said that."
I have no idea what Jezebel magazine is nor do I care but when Camilla came out looking like her usual gorgeous self, i sat up and paid attention. HOW PRETTY CAN THIS GIRL GET?! She can literally make a living out of being pretty. I love the golden glow she has about her in this one. I'm in love.

Which magazine cover was your favorite for February?! Who do you think deserved one?! I'm too floored by the amount of gorgeous this month to choose!
