TV Time: Sarah Isn't Really Sarah; Idol Stills Fails to Wow; JJ Believes This Much Is True

[Chuck TV]
I have never been so happy the Olympics are done. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm so much more grateful that Chuck is finally back AND still so good. I hope the ratings are still on the up and up so that NBC won't be a douche and cancel the show. Meanwhile, the Top 20 Idols just aren't leaving me breathless. At all. This is not good news. JJ's episode on Skins this week really got me singing along. I ♥ JJ

Chuck 03x08: Chuck Versus the Fake Name

SAM. Her real name is Sam. So she's Sam Lisa (cause that's her second name, right? Doesn't go too well together). I like the name Sam a lot. And because I had no other previous names in mind for her, it's not a bad deal. However, she will forever be Sarah to me. And the fact that she told Shaw about it instead of Chuck breaks my heart. Why must they do this to us!? Sure, Shaw is mega hot without his top and all dripping wet and totally enamored by Sarah, but Sarah/Chuck forever. Too bad Chuck finally decided to cut Hannah loose. Whoops. Too late, Chuck. Sarah's getting it on with Shaw as we speak.

Meanwhile, how awesome was Chuck taking on an Alias. Sure, he totally flubbed in the end, but the fact that Col. Casey was proud and impressed by his work says something. Yes Sarah, Chuck is changing, but it's inevitable. I just wish your feelings for him would stay the same.

American Idol 9: Top 20

I see you producers favoring the girls, no? I know Crystal was sick and all, but swapping nights? Hmmm... something tells me they're desperate to have a girl winner. Other contestants have gone on the show sick and performed horribly and then made the excuse they were sick. I guess they tried avoiding that this time for Crystal. I like her, but I'm disappointed with where this show is going.

I honestly CANNOT remember how this week's performances went. And not because I was bored half the time but because they really were just forgettable. The judges are as inconsistent as ever and I'm just -- I don't know, I'm just getting tired.

Let me start this off by saying how sad I am that John Park is gone. I don't care about ALL the other kick outs this week, but John's departure made me sad. Sure, he's been underwhelming at best, but he was cute. Oh well.
This week, very few stood out. The boys in general improved -- all of them -- but it just wasn't enough. I particularly enjoyed Alex Lambert's Everybody Knows just because he didn't try too hard to make it his own. It worked for him. Andrew Garcia wans't bad either. I don't know what the judges heard but I liked his You Give Me Something. I see they're already throwing him under the bus so early. And though I Don't Want To Be has been done a gazillion times before, I have to say Casey James's version of it was one of those I enjoyed most. Could be the cutie factor, but it worked.

I know no one can do Matt Nathanson justice but Tim Urban's C'mon Get Higher wasn't that bad. He still looked uncomfortable as ever, but it was okay. I'm not Aaron Kelly's biggest fan. AT ALL. But I thought his My Girl had really good vocals. And as much as I just want to kick Todrick Hall out, his What's Love Got To Do with It didn't leave me bored. The judges and I don't agree with everything but he wasn't dreadful for me. Special mention to Michael Lynche just because he's a likeable guy and he really started the show off great.

As for the girls, I was just underwhelmed to infinity. I expected Crystal Bowersox to be ALL KINDS OF AMAZING because she did get a free pass the night before and she did bring it with Long as I can see the light. I wouldn't say i was blown away but she was great. Siobhan Magnus is a lucky girl because she didn't get the 'it's an old song' double standard with her Respect whereas Katie Stevens got it last week. But it's all good, because Siobhan is really good and so damn likeable. Contrary to judges's opinions, I did enjoy Didi Benami's Lean On Me. I wish she'd done another song, but it wasn't bad at all.

Surprisingly, I really liked Paige Miles's Walk Away. This girl doesn't get much love and she's generally ignored (especially by me) but I really did like her performance. it was the most entertaining and upbeat of the bunch. And I really feel for Katie just because she can't seem to get a break. Her voice was great on Put Your Records On -- trying to be current and all, but I guess they're saving their '16-year-old love' for Aaron Kelly. Finally, Lily Scott's take on Change is Gonna Come was good, but barely enough to make me remember it. Girls better live up to the hype the judges keep bringing.

I have no idea how this group will shape up next week but at this point, I'm just so tired of them. The kick outs other than John Park barely made my eyes blink. And though Lee Dewyze has a great voice. I utterly hate his song choice and he couldn't convince me otherwise. Here's to better performances and grater song choices next week.

Skins 04x06: JJ

I'm so glad this episode wasn't HEAVY like the others have been. However, I did notice a peppering of Thomas in every episode. he's obviously NOT my favorite character so seeing him everywhere is just bugging me. It also bugs me that this could be the last season for this generation and I still feel like things are everywhere. I want closure for everyone okay?!

But really, how can one not enjoy an episode focusing on JJ!? Sure, guy is troubled and overprotected by his mom, but he's always so fun to watch and so damn jolly. I wish they'd set up that he worked someplace beforehand, but this how isn't much for setting things up. I thought it was adorable how Cook was giving him a pep talk and all, only to get stuck in JJ's bedroom for days thanks to the success of his advice. I miss these moments the three boys have. They're always something to look forward to.

Poor JJ though, having Lara have a child already with someone else. She's a really cute fit for JJ and though I'm still crossing my fingers for Pandora/JJ, that's obviously not happening. Nothing beats JJ's serenading Lara through her window with True by Spandau Ballet. It's officially my favorite scene ever. Only JJ can make find his serenade non-cheesy.
